Cherish who you are
Saturday, January 31st, 2009This week, my orchid formed a new green stem and buds. Blooms will unfold, wilt, and dry into beautiful origami paper like flowers. Every part of the cycle is extraordinary. I can hardly wait for the blooms to appear as they have for the past five years.

When going through rough times, I’ve had people tell me, “Don’t worry. There’s light at the end of the tunnel.” I’ve come to find out there is also light IN the tunnel.

The aspen tree is a study in resilience. Thousand year old aspen roots survive forest fires and send up new trunks. When traumatic life experiences burn on the surface, remember the aspen. Your deep roots will survive and grow into a life not wasted - a life worth living. You will have flashbacks of good.
