Whoa there Nellie!

Wednesday, December 31st, 2008

Colorado has these wonderful roundabouts to decrease icy stops and keep the traffic flowing.  Being from the midwest, I’m dependent on red light pauses to get my my bearings.  So, what is the count to Interstate 70 West?  I went around twice to figure it out and get the picture.

Live at your own, healthy pace — even if it means slowing down.  This is my flashback of good for today.  Suzy Shepard

Look for good!

Tuesday, December 30th, 2008

The camera salesman told me to point the camera and everyone would look where I was shooting.  Wrong!  The camera is pointed and the creatures are looking at the grandpa who is wooing them to come and play.

Let your gaze rest on that which is endearing and good.  This is my flashback of good for today.  Suzy Shepard

Find a warm spot

Monday, December 29th, 2008

The decorated chimney sported my initial S and supported a tiny shingled, windowed room.  I could see myself peering out that window and feeling the warmth of a raging fire lit below.  Testing my new camera turned out to be a success.  The image of this city tear down was captured in pitch-darkness and without a flash.

Build into your routine, a warm, safe, private, reserved, retained, labelled place where you can go, reconnoiter and know again who and where you are.  This is my flashback of good for today.  Suzy Shepard

The to do list

Sunday, December 28th, 2008

Today the to do list was very long.  Here my daughter in law can check off two items — Exercise:  check.  Love:  check.

The most essential component on your to do list is to love.  Love is the intense attachment feeling that woos you back to being interested in life.  Put love on the to do list and this will compel you to get all the other jobs done or eliminate the ones that are no longer useful.  This is my flashback of good for today.  Suzy Shepard

The rocks will go

Saturday, December 27th, 2008

These large black, Pacific Ocean rocks block the powerful surf.  Thus far and no farther the rocks seem to say.  The thunderous ocean answers with a spray and an eroding punch.  Sooner or later, the rocks will melt away.

Goal impediments are a part of life that create a thunderous stir until your constant positive attention erodes them and the goal is attained.  Keep up the good work no matter how big the challenge to overcome.  Suzy Shepard

Road carver

Friday, December 26th, 2008

This Arizona highway curve’s magnificence took my breath away.   Who carved this road through the rock?  How did they transport their supplies to this remote location hundreds of miles from the nearest large city?    Who did all this work so I could have an easy and aesthetically beautiful trip across country?

The heroes in your life may never be seen or known, but you will benefit from the legacy they leave in a safer, more navigable environment.  This is my flashback of good for today.  Suzy Shepard

Who painted the world?

Thursday, December 25th, 2008

The eastern Nevada highway view is painted with colors of red and blue.  I wondered who painted the world?

Life is not just black and white.  Try to see all the hues or aspects of a situation and you will be better informed and able to take the next right step.  This is my flashback of good for today.  Suzy Shepard
