Ocean art

Sunday, November 30th, 2008

Ocean winds and waves have eroded this Pacific Ocean beach cliff base and created mile long walls of mesmerizing artistic designs.
Nature itself holds the greatest art ever created.  You will find it in your own back yard. This is my flashback of good for today.  Suzy Shepard

Be present for auspicious occasions

Saturday, November 29th, 2008

My friend is trying on the beaded holder (bottom), pot (middle portion) and decorated coconut (top pointed object) signifying the tradition of a Hindu family Kul Devi (family deity) blessing.  The family goes to the temple and gets this blessing after an auspicious event.  In this case, the auspicious event is my son and daughter-in-law’s wedding.  I was honored to take home a decorated “coconut” similar to the one pictured.

Interrupt your life with auspicious occasions and you will feel a providential presence and blessing beyond belief.  This is my flashback of good for today.  Suzy Shepard

Speak up!

Friday, November 28th, 2008

Most seals were bunked down for the night and sleeping, however, these two were letting their voice be known.  They had something to say for some important reason.  The one thing I knew was they were not telling each other, “Be quiet or you’ll wake up the kids!”
There will be times when you must speak up for yourself.  Let your voice roar even in the midst other’s sleeping, non caring states.  This is my flashback of good for today.  Suzy Shepard

Safe seals

Thursday, November 27th, 2008

The sun was setting when I reached a protected beach on the west coast California Pacific shore.  Someone had put up walkways and fences to give these creatures a fair shake at surviving.  Warnings and an emergency phone number were posted to assure the animals would remain safe.
Settle down with people who have your best interest at heart and who protect your welfare.  This is my flashback of good for today.  Suzy Shepard

Pacific sunset

Wednesday, November 26th, 2008

The morning started in San Jose and ended in Los Angeles, California.  Here was my last sight off the Pacific coast highway.  People were gathered all along the coast to watch this magnificent event.  The sun set on them all.
No matter what your circumstance — who you are, who you aren’t, what you have done, what you have not done — the light of good is set on you.  Soak it up and enjoy the benefits.  This is my flashback of good for today.  Suzy Shepard

The best family fun

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

This family knows how to have fun!  They didn’t have to go out and buy a toy, eat an expensive dinner, join a gym, rent a movie, or pay an entertainer.  This is the moment the kids will remember.

The best in family life is free!  Exercise your right to live this adage and have fun. This is my flashback of good for today.  Suzy Shepard

Enhanced by nature

Monday, November 24th, 2008

I pulled over on the west coast highway north near Monterey, California and found this stunning Pacific Ocean hideaway.  Where have I been all my life to have missed such sights and sounds?  Trapped with PDA’s, TV’s, computers, deadlines, and housework!

Get a life and discover the treats nature holds for your mind and body, and you will rekindle what was lost by enslavement to technology.  This is my flashback of good for today.  Suzy Shepard
