Unconditional love

Friday, October 31st, 2008

Her other dog was dressed up as a policeman!  Who would have thought a dog would dress as a pumpkin.  I wondered if the dog knew how special he was to the passing crowd.  He was focused only on his best friend.

Isn’t it wonderful to know that someone loves you unconditionally and will do anything for you?  This is my flashback of good for today.  Suzy Shepard

Gratitude at the top

Thursday, October 30th, 2008

This preschool teacher is helping the young children to the top of the stairs.

Who helped you to the top of the stairs.  The gratitude you have for those who helped you to the top will be your most valuable asset of the day.  This is my flashback of good for today.  Suzy Shepard

Cat anticipation

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

I couldn’t believe my eyes.  Barney, the black cat, posing next to a Halloween pumpkin.  He was anticipating the fun coming in only two days — Halloween night!

Holidays can be your time to bask in the inspired preparations of others.  Anticipate being wowed by another’s good choices!  This is my flashback of good for today.  Suzy Shepard

Faded glory

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

This beautiful summer flower died in the frigid fall freeze.  My sister in law just died. She made the sandwiches, filled the cooler with sodas, tucked the brownies in the tote bag, and remembered every detail to make us all comfortable and happy.  I remember, but she is gone.

Faded glory does not preclude the possibility of being ever nourished and fulfilled by someone cherished and gone.  This is my flashback of good for today.  Suzy Shepard

Can you see the rainbow?

Monday, October 27th, 2008

The sun was shining through the rain.  My friends and I looked up to see the resulting rainbow faintly stretched across the fall sky.  Can you see the rainbow?

Shine the light of understanding at the ominous thing and you will see a spectacular sight giving you the hope, courage, and wisdom to cope with the threat.  This is my flashback of good for today.  Suzy Shepard

Easy turns

Sunday, October 26th, 2008

I made a late night run to the store and found getting out of the parking lot was easy at night.  During the day, the traffic is so dense and fast moving, I have to go west and make a U-turn to go east.

In the midst of chaos there will be times of stationary stillness when you can make your easy turns to get going in the right direction.  This is my flashback of good for today.  Suzy Shepard

Habitually nest

Saturday, October 25th, 2008

Each year for the past six years, house finches have made a nest in my front porch tree and raised several little babies.  I have been amazed at their consistency and ability to find this particular tree, form a new nest each year, and produce beautiful offspring.

Habitually nest in that safe mental space that inspires your best creative work.  This is my flashback of good for today.  Suzy Shepard
